Mr. Murphy resides in the Orland Park area. He was born in Topeka, KS, and grew up in Oak Brook, IL. He has represented both small and large businesses. He has been associated with private law practice firms in downtown Chicago and in the Chicago Suburban area. For over twenty-five years, he has maintained his principal law office for Petti Murphy & Associates in Orland Park, Cook County, IL.

Mr. Murphy's corporate law work includes serving as a staff legal counsel for Central Soya Corporation, Fort Wayne, IN; and General Counsel of Andrew Corporation, an international electronics business. As a private practice trial lawyer, he has tried cases in the U.S. District Court, Northern Dist. of IL, and in the Circuit Courts of Cook, Will, Lake, DuPage, Kendall and Kane Counties. He has argued before the First District of the Illinois Appellate Court, and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
